Kate graduated with a BS in Biomedical Sciences at Arizona State University. She competed on the beach volleyball team with a strong record, leading her team to many victories including a qualifying win for ASU’s first-ever NCAA Championship appearance.. Kate launched VBAmerica when Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities opened up for college athletes. VBAmerica is a volleyball lifestyle clothing brand that allows players, fans, and enthusiasts to sport their passion off the court! She wanted to find a way to create NIL and sponsorship opportunities for other female athletes while uniting the growing volleyball community. VBA is now available online, in Rally House, and throughout college bookstores including ASU, NAU, USC, and Stanford.
In her former position as Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) President at ASU, Kate created and led initiatives to support student-athletes and provide them with resources in all areas of life—whether related to sport, mental health, or career. During her time in the role, attendance and involvement from athletes doubled, maybe even tripled. She also played a key role in helping SAAC recover from COVID-19 and the loss of school spirit while increasing team interaction through her initiatives and events. Kate presented to over 650 athletes, students, and faculty—discovering her love for public speaking through that experience.
Kate is a 22-year-old athlete, entrepreneur, sister to two younger brothers (Connor and Carter), and an Arizona local. Originally born in Denver but growing up in Arizona, she loves the Valley. Kate attended Cheyenne Traditional Middle School, Chaparral High School, and is now pursuing a master's degree at Arizona State University. Throughout her life, Kate played many sports but focused primarily on soccer until high school. At the beginning of her freshman year, she started indoor volleyball full-time and was soon introduced to beach volleyball.
Going into college, Kate planned to become a NICU nurse and even earned her CNA certification out of high school. Halfway through college, she decided to launch VBAmerica, which has given her the toolset to lead other young entrepreneurs and weigh in on important conversations surrounding college athletics.
